Dr. Andras Tigyi attended the University of California, Davis from 2006-2010, earning a degree in Animal Science. He then received his Doctorate of Veterinary medicine from the University of Tennessee in 2014. Dr. Tigyi’s parents immigrated to the United States from Hungary, and he was born in Los Angeles, California. His family then moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he lived for most of his life. Dr. Tigyi loves his hometown, and is a huge Memphis Grizzlies basketball fan. He has two cats, Combo and Opal, and a 16-year-old Brittany spaniel named Bo who lives in Memphis with his family. In his spare time, Dr. Tigyi enjoys attending sporting events (especially UT football games), the outdoors, making Memphis style barbecue, being with his family, and trying new foods. He loves working with small animals, as well as avian and exotic species. His special interests in veterinary medicine include orthopedic surgery, internal medicine, and emergency/critical care medicine.
